Floral Coral: Color Combinations for Every Season - In the garden & arrangements

With Living Coral ordained "The Color of 2019" last month, we are just in time to plan an on-trend flower garden that will provide you with a la mode cut flowers all summer long! Here I will detail 4 color combinations, one for each season, that perfectly compliment the coral blooms that promise to be all the rage this year.

1. Coral and Yellow - Spring

This combination is well suited for spring arrangements and weddings and pairs well with aqua and beach themes.

Suggested Components:

Ranunculus: Often called the spring rose, layers upon layers of blooms in saturated colors.

Peony: Show stopping and intoxicatingly fragrant blooms.

Peach Roses: Romantic and fragrent.

Craspedia : bright yellow pom-pom like blooms that add instant whimsy to any arrangement.

2. Coral with Pink and Raspberry - Summer

In this combination the pink serves to reflect the highlights within coral blooms and the raspberry to help saturate the lowlights. This classically romantic combination can bridge a spring or summer event from daytime into the evening.

Suggested Components:

Peony: Lage and fragrant focal flowers.

Roses: Romantic and fragrant.

Dahlia: Enormous focal flowers.

Amaranthus: Textured and saturated garnet filler.

Fern: Wispy, green filler that provides texture.

3. Coral with Plum - Fall

Purple tones are lightened by the coral blooms that pop against a darkening background, making for a striking autumn arrangement.

Suggested Components:

Scabiosa - deep purple ball like blooms

Peony - focal flower in coral

Dahlia - Cafe au lait, cream color with pink undertones, super on trend for weddings.

Raniculus -In reds or deep purple, these compact blooms bring romance to arrangements.

4. Coral with Serenity - Winter

If the color name serenity sounds familiar, its because it was named color of the year in 2016. Matched with coral it provides a calming and cooling effect on the more vibrant pinks and orange hues on trend this year.

Suggested Components:

Peony - Such a statement, such a perfume!

Dusty Miller - lush silvery, blue tones with a soft texture

Silver Brunia - Silver Berries bring back winter vibes.
